Rylan is a Seattle-based director of photography with over a decade of experience across documentaries, narrative films, music videos, and branded content. Since 2010, his work has taken him to more than 25 countries, including years spent traveling the world as a video journalist and DP for the Emmy Award-winning VICE — with work featured on HBO, Showtime, Hulu, Netflix, BBC, NBC, A&E, ABC, Comedy Central, and beyond.

His range extends well beyond the camera. Rylan has worked as a producer, field producer, and editor across television, commercial campaigns, and documentary projects, and brings that same depth of experience to development and pre-production — translating ideas into actionable production plans that keep teams aligned, budgets intact, and creative vision on track from first concept through final delivery.

In 2022, he founded Fast Friends Media, bringing that breadth of experience to clients and collaborators in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
